Root Nomenclature - Cards

The term 'nomenclature' derives from the Latin nomenclatura, meaning 'assigning names.' Nomenclature enriches vocabulary, strengthens language skills, and deepens conceptual understanding.

The Root Nomenclature Cards are designed as three-part cards and include a blackline master template. The 5 parts of the root: root, primary root, secondary root, root hairs, and root cap.

Includes:

  • 5 cards with labels
  • 5 cards without labels
  • 5 labels
  • 1 blackline master

To use these three-part cards, match the labels to their corresponding pictures. Use the labeled control cards to verify the matches.

After the children learn the individual parts, they can create their own booklet by coloring and labeling the blackline master.

Cards with labels are approx. 3¾" x 4", cards without labels are approx. 1" shorter, labels are approx. 1".
